Russian tourists help Estonian hotels to recover from crisis
14.03.2011, 13:19The increasing number of Russian tourists visiting Estonia is helping local hotels to survive and create hope that they will be able to start increasing prices one day, writes Eesti Päevaleht.
According to Feliks Mägus, chairman of the association of hotels and restaurant operators, tourists from Russia have played a key part in this revitalization.
Tourism statistics showed that the number of Russian tourists visiting Estonia in January 2011 had increased by 30,000 people in a year and was 1.5 times more than a year ago.
“The overall political atmosphere between the two countries has improved and politicians have managed to communicate without exaggerations,” addd Mägus.
He said that Enterprise Estonia and other organizations have also done good work in promoting Estonia in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
